As long as I can remember I’ve always loved to read. Sweet Valley High, Goosebumps, Babysitters Club, Ghostwriter, and Fear Street were some of my favorites as a kid. But once I hit middle and high school, I stopped reading. It wasn’t until I became an adult, watched the Hunger Games, and knew there had to be more to the story, that I got back into reading. That was in 2012--I haven’t looked back since.
Forward to now--I manage my Bookstagram, read over 100 books a year, and literally have tailored all my hobbies around books. And not just hobbies, but my career as well.
In 2018 I started my Virtual Asistant business, The Bookish Camper. I worked with a few authors but realized that I needed more training and wanted to go back to school. In 2021 I graduated Suma Cum Laude with my bachelor's in creative writing. I am not a writer, but I thought if I knew the craft better, I could better help authors. After graduating I decided to pursue a career in publishing. I interned for a few small presses and after a year snagged an internship at Sourcebooks. I learned so much there about the editorial process and project management. Not too long after that internship ended, I got accepted into the Writers House internship. It literally blew my mind. But finding fully remote work isn’t easy. A friend of mine encouraged me to start my own Author Service business and I thought it the perfect job for me. Helping authors is a dream of mine, so here we are friends!
